    Eye-Opening Ethics

    April  26 (Orlando)

    * Please note that the walk-in fee is $40 for both members and guests.

** Lunch will be catered by Toojay's.

    Presenter:  Lillian J. LeBlanc, PCC

    Program Overview:

What is “ethics”, anyway? How do you determine if certain behaviors are ethical or not? How does ethics apply to our work as coaches?

Participate in this highly interactive session to explore the broad definition of ethics, review the ICF Code of Ethics and examine your own ethical compass. Through group discussion and case studies, you’ll be immersed in this fascinating topic not only from the perspective of coaching, but through the lens of life in general.

Participation in this program provides 1.5 Core Competency CCEs in Ethics (All ICF credentialed coaches must obtain 3 CCEs in Ethics during each credential renewal cycle.)

    Pre-work:

Carefully review the ICF Code of Ethics and consider how you apply it to your coaching practice. Come prepared to share your thoughts and experiences.

    Learning Objectives:

    1. Increase awareness of the ICF Code of Ethics and ethics resources available to ICF coaches.

    2. Explore one’s own ethical boundaries and decision making processes.

    3. Examine several real-life ethical cases to expand understanding of ethics in practice.

    4. Learn from other participants through best-practice sharing.

When Either/Or Won’t Do: Engaging the Power of Both/And for Sustainable Coaching Impact

    May 17 (Tampa)

    * Please note that the walk-in fee is $40 for both members and guests.

    Presenter:  Ann Deaton

    Objectives:

The pull of competing commitments goes by many names: polarity, paradox, wicked problem, tension. Our clients all experience them: choosing between a rich home life and a successful career; the reality of what is and the dream of what could be; being a confident leader or a humble one. When clients show up feeling stuck in the mire of Either/Or dilemmas, we do them a disservice when we don’t explore the possibility, and often the necessity, of Both/And solutions. Absent this choice, our coaching clients often cycle through the same challenges over and over again.

In this experiential session, participants will have the opportunity to identify several polarities that show up for coaches, and those that your clients bring to coaching. You will learn the clarifying structure of a Polarity Map and learn how to create and navigate through several maps together.

    Participants will learn:

    • To develop an understanding of the concept of polarity thinking
    • To listen for polarities in their coaching
    • To gain experience in mapping key coaching polarities

    Key Takeaways:

    • A framework for exploring complex challenges
    • An experience of learning in community
    • A concept that you’ll discover you’ve been benefitting from all your life
    • A chapter from VUCA Tools, as a coach works with a team to navigate polarities
    • Resources for continuing to grow your knowledge and skills

    About the Presenter:

Ann is a leadership and team coach. Her strength is creating the kinds of rich and open conversations that expand perspectives and holds clients accountable to act and realize their goals.

Ann earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology, specializing in health psychology and neuropsychology. After a healthcare career, she pursued coach training with the Newfield Network and earned her PCC. In addition to work with individual clients and teams, Ann facilitates leadership and coaching skills development for corporate, government and university clients.

She has authored two books: VUCA Tools for a VUCA World: Developing Leaders and Teams for Sustainable Results and Being Coached: Group and Team Coaching from the Inside.

    Debriefing Actions for Transformational Change

    JUNE 20 (WEBINAR)

    * Please note that there is a $10 (member) and $15 (non-member) participation fee.

    Presenter:  Paulette Rao

    June 20, 2019 ICF-ICF Webinar 11:30-1:00 – 1.5 CCEUs

    Course Description:

Why do coaches bother to study neuroscience? Recent scientific data about the brain helps us understand why coaching works and how to coach for maximum efficacy. Neuroscience is the study of the human nervous system, the brain, and the biological basis of consciousness, perception, memory, and learning. This knowledge about the brain allows us to better understand how clients think, act, and learn.

Studying the brain allows coaches and leaders to:

    • Understand why coaching works
    • Learn how to coach for maximum impact
    • Lead a conversation that facilitates learning
    • Improve their performance
    • Improve the performance of others (who report to us or whom we are coaching).

These insights have the power to fundamentally rewrite the rules for every human endeavor involving thinking and learning, including how we educate, how we hire and manage staff, how we train people in the workplace, and how we develop leaders.

    In this program you will:

    • Understand how the brain works so that you can increase your efficacy as a coach
    • Learn how to create and sustain a positive, engaged state of mind to create the ideal circumstances for coaching to occur.
